Journey is not only one of the most influential bands in music history, but with all the flips and turns down the road, they have still managed to keep going. They show us what it is to be passionate.

Journey formed in San Francisco in 1973. This including former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch. They released 3 albums starting in 1975 before Steve Perry joined in 1977. They’ve had many other members in the past. Some for longer periods than others. Current members are Neal Schon(lead guitar), Ross Valory(rythm guitar), Steve Smith(drums), Jonathan Cain(keyboard), and Arnel Pineda(lead vocals).
One thing that really stands out about Journey is the fact that they have changed their lead singer over 5 times, and they’re still going at it. It’s said that it went from Robert Fleischman to Steve Perry to Steve Augeri, and finally to Arnel Pineda.

I think we can all agree Journey is a huge success. Their music is not a “was great or “is great”. It’s more like “was, is, and always will be great”. Don’t Stop Believin’ isn’t the only song that gives you the chills. Journey has had other huge hits such as Separate Ways, Open Arms, and Who’s Crying Now.
Some might name a certain song that makes their excitement known. For millions of people, one of those songs is very likely to be a Journey one. Steve Perry wrote Lights exclusively about his love for San Francisco. Each and every song touches you in such unique ways. Faithfully moves you, Open Arms touches you, Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’ soothes you, Separate Ways motivates you, Don’t Stop Believin’ encourages you.
The thing about Journey is that they don’t just make music. They ARE music. They don’t just make you feel something. They ARE that feeling. Passion. Not many bands can genuinely say they feel the same passion anymore. The passion that drove them to making music in the first place. Journey’s soul is still as young as they were when they first started. You see Journey live in concert today, and you feel free. An experience of release.. a release of all kinds of emotions.

See, you’ll soon come to the realization that music is love, and love is music. The love you hold so strongly for a certain artist, or maybe a certain song is actually a reflection. A reflection of whatever it is you’re feeling inside at that exact moment. One song can get you through the day somehow. It’s really all in how you perceive it. Journey has had that effect on people. The effect of reflecting and getting in depth with emotion. No matter how many times they’ve changed their band members, or how confusing it may be to keep up with it, they have always, no doubt.. made us feel alive.
